This 6-day, 5-night safari links two of Kenya's most contrasting wildlife regions by scheduled flight: Samburu's dry northern landscape, home to the Samburu Special Five, and the Masai Mara's grasslands, home to the highest Big Five density in Kenya.
You spend two nights in Samburu and three in the Mara, connected by a short flight via Nairobi rather than a long, indirect road transfer. A fresh private 4x4 Land Cruiser jeep and driver-guide meets you at each airstrip.
This is a private safari throughout, not a shared van tour. Your vehicle and guide are exclusive to your party at both parks.

Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi – Samburu National Reserve
Pickup from your Nairobi hotel or JKIA, then transfer to Wilson Airport for a scheduled flight to Samburu airstrip, roughly 50–70 minutes.
Your driver-guide meets you at the airstrip and takes a game-drive route to your lodge. Check in, have lunch, then set out on an afternoon game drive along the Ewaso Nyiro River. Dinner and overnight at your Samburu camp.
Day 2: Full Day in Samburu
Morning and afternoon game drives tracking the Samburu Special Five and the reserve's well-known leopard population along the river.
Optional Add-Ons
A visit to a local Samburu community, at an additional cost.
Day 3: Samburu – Masai Mara
Final morning game drive before breakfast, then transfer to the airstrip for your scheduled flight to the Mara, typically routed via Nairobi, roughly 1.5–2 hours total.
A new driver-guide meets you at your Mara airstrip. Check in, lunch, then an afternoon game drive until sunset. Dinner and overnight in the Mara.
Day 4: Full Day in the Masai Mara
Morning and afternoon game drives with a bush lunch in the field, tracking predator movements and, in migration season, wildebeest and zebra crossings.
Optional Add-Ons
A hot-air balloon safari at dawn, or a guided Maasai cultural visit, both at an additional cost.
Day 5: Second Full Day in the Masai Mara
A second full day lets your guide explore areas missed on Day 4, whether that's Mara River crossing points, the Mara Triangle, or a nearby conservancy if your camp offers access.
Second bush lunch in the field. Dinner and overnight in the Mara.
Day 6: Masai Mara – Nairobi
Final early morning game drive before breakfast, often the best window for cat sightings. Return to camp, pack up, and transfer to the airstrip for your scheduled flight back to Wilson.
Drop-off at your Nairobi hotel or JKIA for onward travel.

Getting There
All flights depart from Wilson Airport (WIL) in Langata, Nairobi, not JKIA. If you're arriving internationally, we transfer you from JKIA to your hotel first, then to Wilson the next morning, unless timing allows a same-day connection.
There's no direct scheduled flight between Samburu and the Masai Mara, so the Day 3 connection routes through Wilson Airport, with a short layover before the onward flight. Total journey time, including the layover, is typically 1.5–2 hours.
Baggage
Baggage is limited to 15kg per person in soft-sided bags only, for each flight leg; hard suitcases aren't accepted on the aircraft. We can store excess luggage at your Nairobi hotel or a Wilson Airport locker for a small fee.
