Best ForRepeat safari travellers wanting the widest possible contrast in landscape and wildlife across a single Kenya trip

This 6-day, 5-night safari links two of Kenya's most contrasting wildlife regions by scheduled flight: Samburu's dry northern landscape, home to the Samburu Special Five, and the Masai Mara's grasslands, home to the highest Big Five density in Kenya.

You spend two nights in Samburu and three in the Mara, connected by a short flight via Nairobi rather than a long, indirect road transfer. A fresh private 4x4 Land Cruiser jeep and driver-guide meets you at each airstrip.

This is a private safari throughout, not a shared van tour. Your vehicle and guide are exclusive to your party at both parks.

Getting There

All flights depart from Wilson Airport (WIL) in Langata, Nairobi, not JKIA. If you're arriving internationally, we transfer you from JKIA to your hotel first, then to Wilson the next morning, unless timing allows a same-day connection.

There's no direct scheduled flight between Samburu and the Masai Mara, so the Day 3 connection routes through Wilson Airport, with a short layover before the onward flight. Total journey time, including the layover, is typically 1.5–2 hours.

Baggage

Baggage is limited to 15kg per person in soft-sided bags only, for each flight leg; hard suitcases aren't accepted on the aircraft. We can store excess luggage at your Nairobi hotel or a Wilson Airport locker for a small fee.
