This 9-day, 8-night safari is our most complete Kenya circuit, combining four destinations: Samburu's dry-country Special Five, Ol Pejeta Conservancy's rhino sanctuary, the Masai Mara's Big Five density, and Amboseli's elephant herds beneath Mount Kilimanjaro.
Ol Pejeta is the standout stop for conservation-focused travellers: it's home to Najin and Fatu, the last two northern white rhinos on Earth, alongside the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa.
Since Samburu and Ol Pejeta are close enough for a road transfer, that leg runs by private vehicle with a game-drive route, while the remaining transfers are by scheduled flight via Nairobi. This is a private safari throughout, not a shared van tour. A fresh 4x4 Land Cruiser jeep and driver-guide meets you at each destination.

Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi (or Mombasa/Diani) – Samburu National Reserve
Pickup from your Nairobi hotel or JKIA, or from your Mombasa/Diani hotel if starting from the coast. Transfer to Wilson Airport for a scheduled flight to Samburu, roughly 50–70 minutes from Nairobi.
Your driver-guide meets you at the airstrip and takes a game-drive route to your lodge. Check in, have lunch, then an afternoon game drive along the Ewaso Nyiro River. Dinner and overnight at your Samburu camp.
Day 2: Full Day in Samburu
Morning and afternoon game drives tracking the Samburu Special Five and the reserve's well-known leopard population along the river.
Day 3: Samburu – Ol Pejeta Conservancy
Morning game drive, then a road transfer to Ol Pejeta Conservancy, roughly 2–3 hours, with a game-drive route through Laikipia's varied landscapes.
Arrive for lunch, then an afternoon game drive introducing you to Ol Pejeta's wildlife, including elephant, lion, and both black and white rhino. Dinner and overnight at your Ol Pejeta camp.
Day 4: Full Day at Ol Pejeta – Rhino Sanctuary
A full day dedicated to Ol Pejeta's rhino conservation programs. Visit the sanctuary area to see Najin and Fatu, the last two northern white rhinos on Earth, kept under 24-hour armed guard, and explore the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa.
Optional Add-Ons
A visit to Ol Pejeta's chimpanzee sanctuary, home to rescued chimps from Burundi and the DRC, at an additional cost.
Day 5: Ol Pejeta – Masai Mara National Reserve
Morning game drive, then transfer to the airstrip for your scheduled flight to the Mara, routed via Nairobi, roughly 1.5–2 hours total.
A new driver-guide meets you at your Mara airstrip. Check in, lunch, then an afternoon game drive until sunset. Dinner and overnight in the Mara.
Day 6: Full Day in the Masai Mara
Morning and afternoon game drives with a bush lunch in the field, tracking predator movements and, in migration season, wildebeest and zebra crossings.
Optional Add-Ons
A hot-air balloon safari at dawn, or a guided Maasai cultural visit, both at an additional cost.
Day 7: Masai Mara – Amboseli National Park
Final morning game drive before breakfast, then transfer to the airstrip for your scheduled flight to Amboseli, routed via Nairobi, roughly 1.5–2 hours total.
A new driver-guide meets you at Amboseli's airstrip. Check in, lunch, then an afternoon game drive with your first Kilimanjaro views, weather permitting. Dinner and overnight in Amboseli.
Day 8: Full Day in Amboseli
Sunrise game drive for the clearest Kilimanjaro photography, followed by a visit to Observation Hill. Second game drive in the afternoon covering the swamps and dry lakebed.
Day 9: Amboseli – Nairobi (or Mombasa/Diani)
Final early morning game drive before breakfast, often the best window for cat sightings and clearest Kilimanjaro views. Check out and transfer to the airstrip for your scheduled flight back to Wilson.
Drop-off at your Nairobi hotel or JKIA, or a connecting flight to Mombasa/Diani if you started from the coast.

Getting There
This itinerary is available with two starting points: Nairobi, or Mombasa/Diani on the coast. Both connect through Wilson Airport (WIL) in Langata, Nairobi, not JKIA. If starting from the coast, we arrange a connecting flight or transfer to Wilson before Day 1 begins.
The Samburu-to-Ol Pejeta leg on Day 3 is the only road transfer in the itinerary, roughly 2–3 hours, since the two destinations sit close enough that a flight isn't necessary. Every other leg is a scheduled flight, each routed via Wilson Airport with a short layover, typically 1.5–2 hours total per connection.
Baggage
Baggage is limited to 15kg per person in soft-sided bags only, for each flight leg; hard suitcases aren't accepted on the aircraft. We can store excess luggage at your Nairobi hotel or a Wilson Airport locker for a small fee.
