Best ForTravellers wanting Amboseli's elephants and Kilimanjaro views alongside the full Serengeti-Ngorongoro circuit, with room to add a Zanzibar finish

This 12-day safari links Amboseli's elephant herds and Kilimanjaro views with the Masai Mara's Big Five density, then crosses into Tanzania for the Serengeti's endless plains and the Ngorongoro Crater's rhino population. Every day runs in a private 4x4 Land Cruiser with a dedicated guide, no shared vans, no fixed-group departures.

Two ways to finish this trip: the standard routing ends at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) after the Ngorongoro leg, ideal for onward international flights. An alternative loops back through Amboseli and ends in Nairobi instead, useful if your return flight departs from Kenya. Both are available; let us know which suits your travel plans.

Want a beach finish? Many guests add 2–3 nights in Zanzibar after Ngorongoro, flying from Kilimanjaro or Arusha, extending this trip to roughly 14–15 days total. See our dedicated Kenya, Tanzania & Zanzibar itineraries for pre-built versions of this extension, or ask us to add it to this 12-day route.

Frequently Asked Questions

The standard route ends at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) near Arusha after the Ngorongoro Crater. An alternative routing loops back through Amboseli before ending in Nairobi. Both variants are available; tell us which end point suits your onward flights.

Yes. Many guests add 2 to 3 nights in Zanzibar after the Ngorongoro leg, flying from Kilimanjaro or Arusha to Zanzibar (ZNZ) rather than heading straight home. This extends the trip to roughly 14 to 15 days total. See our dedicated Kenya, Tanzania & Zanzibar itineraries for pre-built versions of this extension.

Private. Every departure uses a dedicated 4x4 Land Cruiser and guide for your party only. We don't run shared vans or fixed-group departures.

The Mara-to-Serengeti leg crosses at Isebania. Kenyan-registered vehicles can't operate inside Tanzanian parks and vice versa, so your guide and vehicle hand you off to a Tanzanian counterpart at the border. This is arranged in advance and typically takes 10 to 30 minutes.

July to September for Mara River crossings during the Great Migration. January to March for Serengeti calving season and quieter roads. Both fit this 12-day pacing well.
