Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1

Day 1: Nairobi – Masai Mara

We pick you up from your Nairobi hotel or JKIA and transfer you to Wilson Airport (domestic terminal). Check-in is 60 minutes before departure. You board a scheduled flight for the 45–60 minute hop to your lodge's airstrip — Musiara, Ol Kiombo, Keekorok, or a conservancy strip, depending on your camp's location.

Arrival by scheduled flight into the Masai Mara

Your driver-guide meets you on arrival with the Land Cruiser jeep. You check in, have lunch, then head straight into an afternoon game drive from roughly 4:00 PM to sunset. Dinner and overnight at your chosen lodge or camp.

  • Main destination: Masai Mara National Reserve
  • Activities: Flight, afternoon game drive
  • Meals: Lunch and dinner
Day 2

Day 2: Masai Mara – Nairobi

Early breakfast, then a full morning game drive covering more ground while the reserve is coolest and most active — the best window for predator sightings.

Return flight from the Masai Mara to Nairobi

Return to camp for a late breakfast or brunch, pack up, and transfer to the airstrip for your afternoon flight back to Wilson. We drop you at your Nairobi hotel or JKIA to connect with your onward flight.

Exit timing note: you must clear the reserve gate by 10:00 AM if departing by road, or reach the airstrip by 10:00 AM if flying, to avoid an extra day's park fee.
  • Main destination: Nairobi

Tour Cost & Pricing

Rates are per person sharing, in a private Land Cruiser jeep with a dedicated driver-guide. Pricing varies by camp category, group size, and season.

Pricing note: Rates already factor in the current park fee structure set by Narok County, which is lower in the first half of the year and rises from July through the peak migration period. A single supplement applies for solo travellers. Children 9–17 are charged a reduced park fee; under 9 enter free. Confirm your exact quote at booking based on your chosen lodge.

Getting There

All flights depart from Wilson Airport (WIL) in Langata, Nairobi, not JKIA. If you're arriving internationally, we transfer you from JKIA to your hotel first, then to Wilson the next morning, unless your schedule allows a same-day connection.

Scheduled carriers run multiple daily departures to Mara airstrips, typically in the 07:00–08:00, 10:00–10:30, and 14:00–16:00 windows. Flight time is 45 minutes to just over an hour, depending on how many airstrips the aircraft stops at en route — this is normal and doesn't affect your total journey time by much.

Baggage

Baggage is strictly limited to 15kg per person in soft-sided bags only; hard suitcases can't be loaded onto the aircraft. We can store excess luggage at your Nairobi hotel or arrange a locker at Wilson Airport for a small fee.

During peak migration season, airlines add extra midday flights to handle demand. Book early if you're travelling in this window — seats sell out weeks in advance.
