This eight-day trip pairs a classic Tanzania northern-circuit safari with a proper beach finish. You travel from Arusha through Tarangire, the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater in a private pop-up-roof 4x4, then fly straight from Arusha to Zanzibar for a guided tour of Stone Town, a boat trip to Prison Island, and two full days of beach relaxation on the northern coast.
Accommodation runs mid-range throughout the safari portion, including a luxury tented camp inside the Central Serengeti, before finishing in a luxury beach hotel on Zanzibar.

Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival & Transfer to Arusha
On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK), you're warmly welcomed and transferred to your accommodation in Arusha for the night. Your lodge sits in the heart of the city surrounded by garden grounds, a calm setting to unwind and enjoy a taste of local cuisine before the safari begins.
Day 2: Full-Day Game Drive, Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, your guide briefs you on the day ahead before setting off for Tarangire National Park with lunch boxes for the journey. Tarangire is known for its large elephant herds, tree-climbing African pythons and varied landscapes — seasonal swamps, savannah and the Tarangire River — with lion on the prowl and leopards lounging in the trees. After the game drives, you're driven to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Karatu to Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, journey to the Serengeti with a wildlife game drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area along the way. The Serengeti, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is home to over two million hoofed mammals, around 4,000 lions, 1,000 leopards, 550 cheetahs and roughly 500 bird species, spread across nearly 15,000 square kilometres of plains, scattered trees and iconic rocky kopjes.

Day 4: Game Drive, Central Serengeti
An early morning game drive followed by a full day of game viewing, with a packed lunch to keep you going. The Serengeti is the most celebrated of Africa's parks, renowned for its wildebeest migration and the herds of zebra and antelope that move with it — many travellers wish they'd allowed even more time here. As the sun sets, you're transferred to your accommodation near the Ngorongoro Crater rim.
Day 5: Ngorongoro Game Drive, Transfer to Arusha & Flight to Zanzibar
After an early breakfast, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive with packed lunch boxes. Often called the "Eighth Wonder of the World" and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the crater is renowned for its dense wildlife population and is one of the best places to see the Big Five — lions and Cape buffalo are seen here almost year-round. Afterward, transfer to Arusha and catch a flight to Zanzibar for some well-deserved relaxation.

Day 6: Stone Town & Prison Island Tour
A guided tour through Stone Town's history, culture and unique architecture, followed by a short boat ride to Prison Island to see its giant tortoises and clear waters. In the afternoon, you're transferred to your beach hotel on Zanzibar's northern coast for relaxation by the ocean.

Day 7: Zanzibar Beach Relaxation
A full day of pure beach relaxation — soak up the sun on soft white sand, take a dip in turquoise waters, and unwind to the sound of the waves. Whether you spend the day under a palm tree or take a walk along the shore, it's the perfect close to your safari.
Day 8: Transfer to Zanzibar Airport
One last morning to enjoy the tranquil beach before your transfer to the airport for your departure flight.

Getting There & Travel Logistics
This tour starts in Arusha and ends in Zanzibar. To begin, fly into Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), near Arusha, or into Arusha Airport (ARK) via Dar es Salaam or Nairobi. We can help you select your international flights, but you'll need to book them yourself.
To depart, fly out from Abeid Amani Karume Airport (ZNZ) on Zanzibar, or via Dar es Salaam (DAR) — daily ferries also connect Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar. Airport transfers at both ends are included in your tour price.
Internal Flights
A short internal flight links Arusha to Zanzibar after your final Ngorongoro Crater game drive. Rates include a fixed budget for this flight; road transfers are used between Arusha, Tarangire, the Serengeti and Ngorongoro.
