Fly from Mombasa to Amboseli National Park in under an hour and swap the coast for elephants at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro. This is a private fly-in safari — no shared vans, no group joining. You travel in your own 4x4 Land Cruiser with a dedicated driver-guide from the moment you land at Amboseli Airstrip.

Amboseli is Kenya's second-most visited park, known for large elephant herds, open plains, and Africa's clearest views of Kilimanjaro. The park is compact, so two full days of game drives cover it well. This makes it the fastest way to add a genuine safari to a Mombasa or Diani beach holiday without losing days to road travel.

Tour Cost & Pricing

Private safari only — a 4x4 Land Cruiser with your own driver-guide, no other travellers in your vehicle. Rates below are per person, twin/double sharing, based on a 3 Days/2 Nights mid-range lodge package including return flights, park fees, meals, and game drives.

Pricing note: These are starting-point figures to confirm against current lodge and flight rates before booking, not final quotes. Flights are priced per person and don't drop with group size — the savings on larger groups come from splitting the vehicle, guide, and park logistics. Luxury camps and lodges push these rates higher; budget lodges bring them down. Single travellers pay a single supplement, quoted on request.

Getting There

Amboseli Airstrip is served by daily scheduled flights from Moi International Airport (Mombasa) and Ukunda Airstrip (Diani), operated by regional carriers. Flight time is approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour, depending on route and stops.

Luggage is limited to 15kg per person in soft-sided bags — hard suitcases won't fit the aircraft hold. Pack light; leave excess luggage at your coastal hotel if needed.

Check-in is typically 45–60 minutes before departure. Flight schedules can shift with demand, so we confirm exact times once your dates are booked.

Road Transfer Alternative

A road transfer from Mombasa to Amboseli is also possible but takes 8–9 hours each way — the fly-in option exists specifically to avoid this.

Frequently Asked Questions

Around 45 minutes to 1 hour on a scheduled flight, depending on the routing and any stops en route.

Private only. You get your own Land Cruiser and driver-guide — you don't share a vehicle with other travellers.

It's possible but not recommended. A day trip leaves almost no time in the park after flight and transfer times. 2 nights is the minimum for a worthwhile visit.

Dry months, June to October and January to February, give the clearest mountain views, especially early morning before cloud builds.

Most nationalities need an eTA (electronic travel authorization) applied for online before arrival. Confirm requirements for your passport before booking.

15kg per person, in a soft bag. Hard suitcases aren't accepted on these aircraft.

Yes. Amboseli pairs well with Tsavo West, the Chyulu Hills, or the Masai Mara as a longer multi-park itinerary — ask us about extensions.

Mid-range lodges by default; we can upgrade to luxury camps or adjust for budget, depending on your season and group size.

Yes. The park is compact, roads are manageable, and game drives are shorter than in larger parks like the Mara — a good first safari for families.
