This five-day safari eases you in with a first night in Arusha before heading into the parks: Tarangire's elephant herds, a full game drive on the Ngorongoro Crater floor, then two days tracking the Big Five across the Serengeti's open plains and rocky kopjes. You travel in a private, pop-up-roof 4x4 stocked with mineral water, power sockets and binoculars, with an English-speaking guide throughout. Available for couples, families and small private groups of 2–6 travellers — never shared with other parties.
Accommodation runs mid-range: a lodge in Arusha for your first night, a lodge near Tarangire, and a luxury tented camp inside the Central Serengeti for your two nights there.

Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival & Transfer to Arusha
Your adventure begins the moment you touch down at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport. A comfortable transfer takes you to your lodge in Arusha, set in the shadow of Mount Meru. You spend your first day unwinding, taking in the views and settling into the lodge before the game drives begin the following day.
Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
After breakfast around 7:15am, set out on a game drive to Tarangire National Park, carrying lunch boxes along the way. Tarangire is well known for its large elephant herds, with landscapes ranging from seasonal swamps to open savannah as the Tarangire River winds through the park — watch for lion stalking prey and leopards observing from the trees above. Once the game drives are complete, you're driven to your lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater to Serengeti National Park
An early start around 6:15am, then after breakfast you drive into the Ngorongoro Crater for a wildlife game drive on the crater floor. Ngorongoro is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa's natural wonders — the largest uninterrupted caldera in the world, home to roughly 30,000 large mammals year-round including buffalo, lion, elephant, cheetah and rhino, plus bird species such as flamingos in the crater lakes. After an extensive game drive, you continue to the Serengeti for relaxation, dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Guided Game Drive, Serengeti National Park
A full day game drive in the Serengeti, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to over two million animals, with vast open plains renowned for the annual Great Migration of wildebeest and zebra. Your guide leads you across diverse landscapes, from open grasslands to rocky kopjes, with strong chances of spotting the Big Five — lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino — plus giraffe, cheetah and numerous bird species.
Enjoy a scenic bush lunch surrounded by nature in the heart of the Serengeti. An optional sunrise hot air balloon safari can also be arranged, subject to availability and weather — not included in the standard tour price. Return to camp in the evening for dinner and relaxation.

Day 5: Serengeti to Arusha or Kilimanjaro Airport
After breakfast, set out on a morning game drive across the park. Early morning is when predators are most active hunting, giving you a strong chance of seeing lions, leopards and other carnivores in action. You spend the morning exploring before slowly beginning your transfer out of the park, continuing to enjoy game viewing along the way. As you leave the Serengeti, you'll pass through the Serengeti Highlands, stopping at a crater viewpoint for photographs, before continuing to Arusha or Kilimanjaro Airport depending on your travel schedule.

Getting There & Travel Logistics
This tour starts and ends in Arusha. Fly into Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), near Arusha, or into Arusha Airport (ARK) via Dar es Salaam or Nairobi. We can help you select your international flights, but you'll need to book them yourself. A roundtrip airport transfer is included in your tour price.
Vehicle & Activities
All game drives and transfers use a private, pop-up-roof 4x4 vehicle — the same vehicle throughout the tour, stocked with mineral water, power sockets and binoculars, and never shared with other travellers.
